About Dr. Asad Khan
Electrophysiologist
Dr. Asad Khan, M.D.
is a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist with expertise in managing complex arrhythmias and performing advanced cardiac procedures. He specializes in catheter ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and the use of cutting-edge technology for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardias, and ventricular tachycardia. Dr. Khan is skilled in performing pulmonary vein isolation using both radiofrequency and pulse-field ablation—including fully fluoroless PVI—as part of his commitment to maximizing patient safety. He also performs left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman) procedures for patients seeking an alternative to long-term anticoagulation.
In addition, Dr. Khan offers leadless pacemaker implantation—a minimally invasive option that avoids a chest incision and leads—providing a smaller device, quicker recovery, and a safe alternative for patients who cannot receive traditional transvenous pacemaker leads.
Dr. Khan has additional expertise in neuromodulation techniques for syncope and bradyarrhythmias. His dedication to advancing the field is reflected in his ongoing research in ventricular arrhythmias, cardioneuroablation, and addressing disparities in cardiovascular care. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at national scientific conferences.
Dr. Khan completed fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He previously completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he was recognized for his clinical excellence. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he received numerous academic honors.
He is triple board certified and an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Khan enjoys exploring Chicago’s diverse restaurant scene, traveling with his family, and cheering on his hometown Buffalo Bills.
