Dr. Yun graduated from the University of Toronto and earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He then pursued advanced training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, completing both cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowships, and was elected Chief Interventional Cardiology Fellow.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yun has been actively engaged in clinical research. He has authored numerous publications and book chapters, presented at major national cardiovascular conferences, and has participated in multiple research trials advancing the field of structural heart disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Yun specializes in percutaneous treatment of complex coronary and structural heart disease. He utilizes advanced technologies such as atherectomy, intravascular imaging, and other cutting-edge modalities to optimize outcomes. As Medical Director of the Structural Heart Program at Silver Cross and member of the Heart Team at numerous other sites, he performs minimally invasive procedures including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), mitral and tricuspid valve interventions, and closure of atrial septal defects (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO).
Dr. Yun is currently seeing patients at our Mokena Clinic, where he brings a patient-focused, innovative approach to cardiovascular care.
