Doctor's Profile

About Dr. Henry Shin

Cardiologist

In the era of modern medicine and managed care, the role of the physician has unfortunately been relegated to that of a 'care provider'. In my practice, I strive not only to explain to my patients the basis for diagnostic tests and treatment plans based on scientific and evidence-based medicine, but I also hope to make a difference in their health and well-being by becoming a friend and advocate they can trust...

Dr. Henry Shin graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude. He received his MD from Stanford Medical School. Dr. Shin completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the University of California San Francisco.

He subsequently completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco where he also completed a year of training in echocardiography. Dr. Shin specializes in echocardiography and hypertension treatment. He also has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of patients with congestive heart failure.

Dr. Shin is Board Certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He is a testamur of the American Board of Echocardiography subspecialty examination. He has received the Hewlett-Packard Teaching Award in 1997. He has been honored with the American Heart Association Heartsaver Award in 2000.
