Robert M. Gasior, M.D.
Dr. Robert Gasior graduated from St. Joseph's College, Magna Cum Laude, in 1957. He went on to receive his MD from Loyola University followed by residency at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Gasior pursued his fellowship training and served as the Cardiovascular Surgery Chief Resident at the Baylor College of Medicine.
Following two years as the head of surgery at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M.A.S.H) in South Vietnam, Dr. Gasior was granted a Master of Science in Surgery from the Mayo Clinic in 1968.
Dr. Gasior specializes and is board certified in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He serves on the board of directors of the Cardiovascular Institute of Chicago.
Demonstrating a genuine commitment to medical education, Dr. Gasior serves as Coordinator for the Visiting Professional Lectureship through Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. In 1999, he received the Robert L. Schmitz Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to surgical education.
Dr. Gasior joined Gumbiener & Associates in 1971, serving the South Chicago and surrounding areas. This group of physicians grew to become a principal component of Heart Care Centers of Illinois.
